Our Asher, three years MAY 8TH 2005 today!
Thank you for being champions in my life. A Catholic Mass will be said at St Peters in Douglas MI at 5:00 Sat May 10 and Sunday May 11th 8am and 11am, in Asher’s memory. If you can attend one please let me know. If we can all be at one we can go to my house for pie afterwards and talk about memories., and share pictures , and joy. Please tell those I don’t have emails for. Everyone counts!
I (we) are starting ( this is from the ground up) a non profit Foundation called  ASHER'S WAY Its mission statement will be “helping one human being at a time, for their weight of Glory. I will go into jails to find those who have mental illness and attempt to help get them their disability, ( filling out paperwork) getting them the free lawyer, educate them to programs willing to help get housing, clothing etc.We plan to work on one person at a time. I have a friend of Asher’s who has mental illness and once again is incarcerated because he bought a stolen bike. “He really did not know” I am getting him a bike so that when he comes out of jail this time in will have his own. I will begin the process of having others, churches, programs, help him (them) get a fresh start. Once I get brochures etc made I will get one to all of you and pray in some way you will support what we do. Through a gift, prayer, or a visit to a jail, lawyer, clothing thrift store, or a program with me.

Asher "you are missed" from Mom 7/24/2007
 I shall remember you for as long
as there are fields of snow
and there are flowers in the ground
with strength to grow.
As long as there are stars above
and moonbeams on the sea,
and just as long as there are songs
of love and memory.
I shall remember you today
and dreams of you tonight,
and look for you tomorrow when
the sun begins to light.
Whatever season, month or year,
this much will be the same,
the only sound of joy will be,
the mention of your name.
I shall remember you for as long
As there are earth and sky.
And all eternity
may take to say good bye.

Babies, mommy tried her hardest
To keep yous with me
But my best wasn't good enough

I taught Asher and Sarah pre school as I wanted them home with me. We would get up and get dressed and Asher would come to "school" ( Sarah was already in school by then) in the kitchen and call me Miss teacher. One day we were going to do cutting and pasting pictures from magazines. She was so excited. We had everything laying there and I said " now we choose our picture and then cut it out to paste on the poster board". Asher picked up the scissors and went "(VERY EXCITEDLY) well how do I cut with these?"It was a moment I never forgot because we often take all the little things we learn for granted.I missed 3 of my childrens learning how to use scissors but Asher taught me not to take any little things for granted!
